The glamourous Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week kicked off Friday in Manhattan, New York City, New York. As usual, the glitz filled week has seen many models in minimal clothing, chic designers and fashionable celebrities. When one brings up Fashion Week, modesty does not typically come to mind; however, one designer has presented their spring collection with a feminine, bold and modest twist. Designer and former Spice Girl, Victoria Beckham or "Posh Spice" has a spring collection that is modest and fashionable. Victoria Beckham's line made its debut on Sunday. According to ModBee, Beckham's collection can be described as,
"In a palette that mostly ranged from tan to taupe and black, with accents of white or an occasional maroon, there were sleek solid coats of varying lengths, boxy dresses, and pantsuits. But of course, being Beckham's line, they were not exactly traditional; there was a long coatdress with a red belt, a white accent stripe at the bottom and an asymmetrical design that made for a clever... There were also sweater dresses and long layered skirts."
The line embodies a modest and conservative vibe with its neutral and dark colors and pieces with length and minimal exposure. Will other designers follow in the Brits foot steps by making a clothing line suitable for modest fashion? Beckham reminds fashionistas and the world that conversative can be chic too.
