How to Apply Neat-Looking Makeup

While some believe Muslim women should not wear makeup, it is a growing fad within the community. Here are some tips to make the makeup experience perfect and neat:

1. Apply a liquid foundation with an angled makeup sponge over blemishes, dark spots, or uneven skin to make the skin look smooth, light, and healthy.

2. For an even more smooth look, apply a concealer, which comes in the form of sticks, wands, or tubes, over problem areas and cover with a loose powedered cover up.

3. Eye makeup is key to a perfect look. Start with a light color and apply from the lash line to the eyebrow. With a medium color, apply from the lash line to the middle of the eyelid, and with a dark color, apply along the lash line to accentuate the eyes.

4. For an additional standout look, add a line of very dark and bold eye liner along the lash line on the top eyelid.

5. Mascara will make or break the perfect look. For great eyelashes, start with an eyelash curler, and add one layer of horizontal mascara. Once dry, apply mascara to the base of the eyelashes by holding the mascara brush vertically along the eyelashes.

6. Last, but not least, lipstick and lip gloss. Lip stick will be the first to be applied on the whole area of the lips. Lip gloss comes next over the lip stick starting from the middle of the lips out to the outer edge.

Following these steps will make for a perfect look.

Winter is Here!

Dressing for the winter can be fun with these different styles.

This outfit is a perfect one for winter. The high-low dress pairs great with a pair of dark jeans or leggings. The army-looking boots are a fad right now, and the mini jacket ties all of the pieces of the outfit together.

This cute pant and shirt outfit can be worn to any occasion. The patterned, flowy pant and mint colored hijab and necklace are a perfect way to bring out the fun of the cold and dreaded winter.

Here is another way to have fun during the winter with this very stylish outfit. The white pant is a great way to defy the cold and matched with a striped shirt and pastel pink hijab, the outfit is perfect for any day and anytime use.

By Jasmine Roziers

The temperature is dropping slowly. Snow is beginning to fall in some cities across the nation. Nothing is worse than having cold feet in the winter cold. Flats do not help block the cold and neither will canvas sneakers. Boots are the answer to your cold feet prayers this winter. Here are Six pairs of boots you will need to survive the wintertime cold.

Ankle boots: This cute shoes are perfect for the workplace and for a more formal setting. You can pair these with jeans, a skirt or leggings. If you're going to wear these with a skirt, I recommend wearing over-the-knee socks to keep warm. link

Thigh-high boots: These boot provide the most coverage of them all. They are also very chic. This boots can be worn over jeans, trousers or leggings. Make sure the boots pop against whatever you are wearing, so people can see them. After all, they are a statement piece. link

Combat boots: These boots are the most casual of the boots. You honestly cannot dress these up or wear them to the workplace, but they are still super cute. These look best with jeans. Make sure to have thick socks on. link

Rain boots: For those of you stuck in rainy or snowy conditions, rain boots should be your go-to arsenal for the winter months. They have rubber soles and traction to prevent embarrassing falls. These can be wore with virtually anything. Add a cute umbrella or scarf has an accessory. link

Riding Boots: These are super trendy right now. Riding boots are pretty casual but depending on how you dress them up, you could wear them to the workplace. They can be match with jeans, leggings or tights to create an effortless, preppy look. Make sure to get some thick socks that go above the top of the boots for a warm, fashionable look. link
